Selys-Lyann was forged from the remains of a broken Flowbreaker, which was made from the remains of the True Blade. According to Lars Mantrake the sword is cursed, since its wielders commonly die gruesome deaths at the hands of Mizuchi, a child of the God Beast Seiryu.
