World Cutter
World Cutter is a dominion marked greatsword once used by Vanden Kaye, one of the supposed “gods” of the continent of Tyrenia. According to legend, it was forged with the heart of a star from metal in the depths of the elemental planes. It is considered the most successful attempt to replicate the Dominion Breaker, the sword crafted by the worldmakers to protect our world from outside threats.
Like the Dominion Breaker, the World Cutter has abilities designed to combat divine opponents, though they function differently. While the Dominion Breaker utilizes a single unknown dominion to detonate mana, the World Cutter channels the power of dozens of different dominions simultaneously. This unique mixing of energies allows it to exploit the vulnerabilities of nearly any opponent[1].
Appearance[edit]
Physically, World Cutter is a crimson-bladed greatsword nearly 6 feet in length, with a crossguard that curves upward on both sides, the top of which is sharpened to be used as an additional cutting surface. Its pommel holds a large red crystal. When activated, it shimmers like a rainbow.
It is so heavy that no ordinary human or rethri can even lift it.[1].
History[edit]
After its use by Vanden Kaye, it is unknown where it was prior to being acquired by Kyestri.
World Cutter was in Kyestri's vault up until the events at the end of Defying Destiny, in which it was used by Sterling to fight Taelien Salaris[2]. After the battle, it was put into the Jaden Box[3].
When the Jaden Box is opened in On the Shoulders of Titans, it is not mentioned, most likely given to Taelien later, as it was previously arranged that he would get "all the swords"[3][4].
