Elementals are creatures composed entirely of the essence of a particular Dominion. One elemental, the Wandering War, referred to himself as being native to his Dominion instead of the Core Plane.
Many of the types of elementals appear to be different life stages of the same species.
- Figments are the weakest form of elemental and are non-sapient.
- Fragments are stronger than Figments and embody specific principles of their Dominion. They are regarded as child-to-adult elementals and live as Fragments for up to 50 years.
- Facets are adult elementals who have gained sufficient power that they can take the form of a flesh-and-blood creature instead of being a construct of pure essence. They might be the same as...
- Gatherers are adult elementals who travel to the Core Plane in order to return essence back to their Dominion. They are more powerful than normal mortals.
- Harvesters are Gatherers who have grown incredibly powerful. Instead of seeking to passively lead essence back to their Dominion, they instead focus on causing massive releases of essence to expedite the process. For example, a Harvester of War would want to create conflict in order to produce more war essence.
