The '''Paladin''' attunement allows for contracts directly with the [[Visage]] or [[God Beasts]], in a similar manner to how a Summoner might make a contract with a monster, but with the attuned being in an obviously subordinate position. A Paladin is a blade of the visages against their enemies, carrying vast visage-specific powers. It’s believed that this attunement may have been deliberately designed as a countermeasure to the Children of the Tyrant, and given what I now know about the apparent weakness of the children and the mana composition of this attunement, that seems plausible. <ref name="aa6-a1">''A Brief History of Chronomancy'' Appendix 1</ref>
