The '''Diviner''' [[attunement]] is designed for data gathering and storage. Diviners have at their disposal a variety of spells to locate and identify people or objects, detect magic, and even see at great distances. The diviner attunement grants the attuned access to [[mental mana]] and [[enhancement mana]], along with their combination: [[memory mana]]<ref name=aa2-r>''On the Shoulders of Titans'' Recap - Attunements</ref>. At citrine, it grants access to [[water mana]].

Valian Diviners are often compared to Caelish [[analyst|analysts]] and Dalen [[seer|seers]], which are all related to information gathering. Diviners are more focused on the actual gathering and preserving of raw information, often by creating [[memory crystals]], while Analysts focus on processing data and seers focus on gathering more temporary information via scrying<ref name=aa1-11>''Sufficiently Advanced Magic'' Chapter 11</ref>.
