Constantine has described Selys as being obsessive with her design of Attunements, basing the scale on "shattered memories" instead of rational thought. Vellum claims that the sword, Selys-Lyann, is a symbol of something that Selys would rather forget, something that represents her regret. [[Taelien Salaris|Keras]] considered the goddess as having a sick sense of humour because she uses the monster-filled, death trap spires to distribute magic.

Selys seems to have changed as she raised the spires to distribute Attunements. In the early days of her being on Kaldwyn, she walked in person and directly aided people and the land. Once she raised the spires she stopped helping.
